Thank you very much for your response.What I am trying to do is to trace the Bates' Family back to the first arrival in America and follow the path through to Winslow Township.
I am a member of the Historical Society of Winslow Township.
We went back to the census of 1850 and checked some of the Founding Fathers and the Bates Family are in that group.
Winslow Township was organized in 1845; before that, it was part of Gloucester Township, Gloucester County.
You are probably aware of the fact that the Census Records for 1790 - 1820 for New Jersey were destrroyed.
We have copies of the Census records of the Bates' Family for
the years 1830 - 1930 which we plan to set up in a permanent file.
We would be very appreciative of any data: records, pictures, artifacts, etc. that you could give us or loan us for this file.
We are aware of the important part that the Bates Family played in the development of this area.
