Looking for more information on this family, or to share what we have found so far:

Sophia Bartnik (Bartnick), dau. of John Bartnik of Poland, married Joseph Starzak, Grand Rapids, Mich. According to her obituary she was survived by her husband, 2 sons (Leon & Frank) and two dau. (Louise Groen & Dorothy Wilcox).

More info on this family is found in the PGSA online records from Jastrzabka Stara & Zasow Parishes. John had at least 1 sister (Katherine) and perhaps another also named Sophia that we believe remained in Poland. Another sister, Eva, followed her brothers (John & Stanley) to Grand Rapids.

We are looking for more information on John (wife: Barbara Pyz) & whether he had other children, and on the siblings that remained in Poland. Also information on Stanley's children & grandchildren. We have identified the 10 children of Stanley (& Katherine Kieras): 6 dau. & 4 sons. 2 born in Poland the others in Grand Rapids. Katherine's obit says that she was survived by a brother, but he is not named - since his home is not named we believe he may have been one of the Kieras in Grand Rapids.

Daughters married names: Bukala, Kopenski, Kopczynski, Ruzmus/Rasmus, Stawasz, Syrek. Only 2 sons married - Joseph (my line) and Frank. However, we have not found the name of Frank's wife or if he had any children.
