"Rites Today for Ex-Long Beach Resident"

Funeral service for Mrs. ELDRA MADISON BARRETT (nee: RANDOLPH), 68, for many years a Long Beach resident and mother of COURTNEY RANDOLPH (AKA: ESSIE EULA CLEMMER, nee: BARRETT), Long Beach author, was conducted at 2 p.m. today in Neel's Memorial Chapel, Compton, Ca. Interment was in Sunnyside (now Forest Lawn) Memorial Park.

Mrs. Barrett, 7049 Compton Blvd., Compton, Ca., died Friday night in St. Francis Hospital, Lynwood. She was born in Madisonville, Texas, and moved to Long Beach in 1923.

Surviving are the widower, JAMES WALTER BARRETT of the Compton address, and 6 children: Mrs. Silas W. Clemmer, known professionally as COURTNEY RANDOLPH, 1828 E. Broadway, LEROY BARRETT, 1231 Appleton St., MRS. MYRTLE EVANS of Manteca, Ca., MRS. FERN DICKINSON of Las Vegas, Nv., RANDOLPH BARRETT of San Pedro, Ca., and GARY BARRETT of Buena Park, Ca. 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
