Hello Sylvia! I am the great-great granddaughter of Abraham Hicks Price Barnhart via his daughter Rebecca Jane Barnhart who married first a Riley and second Robert Merryman. Rebecca and Robert had my grandmother Alyce Merryman and two other children. Alyce married James T. Carter and had two boys, one my father Donald Merryman Carter. I have read your posts about Abraham with great interest. I do not have new information for you, but will let you know if anything turns up on my end. Family stories say that Abraham had a store in Sandy Hook, and Rebecca Jane (b.1857)told a story about when the soldiers put them out of their home during the Civil War and they lived in a boxcar. She died before I was born but when I was a child my father told the story of how Rebecca Jane as a little girl played a game and got coal for the family stove her father Abraham had installed in the box car by cutting a hole in the top of it. She threw pebbles at the soldiers passing by on trains and they threw coal back to her. As with all family stories, many errors but probably a grain of truth. I appreciate all your hard work on this family. Thank you! Nancy
