Wow! I can honestly say this info has caused quite the sensation in our family...My mother (Donna) who was raised by my Great Grandmother Jessie (Minnie/Lois sister) was always told that Jessie's parents died in a fire. It is quite the shock to learn that her mother was still alive when she was adopted. We are trying to piece this together, to understand why. I will gather some more information and keep you informed especially if I find out any information on little Marqaret. Grandma Jessie said she never saw baby Margatet again after Jessie went to the Moore's,but she did see Lois(do you have a married name for Lois?) and a brother Delbert. I did learn that the Moore's raised thoroughbred horses in Mooreville (on 11978/5 Moon rd)and that the Bernhardts either raced them or raised them as well in the suburbs of Detroit, and that might have been the connection to how the Moore's knew about Jessie. My mom believes the Moores knew her because Grandma Jessie had some stomach issues and the Moores said they could cure her...which they did.
