I am glad the info was useful. I assume that if Charles had TB he either died or was hospitalized & unable to support his family, so Clara moved back with her father & the 2 youngest children until she could support herself or remarried.

I have found a record for Minnie Barnhart in Michigan Births & Christenings 1775-1995 which gives father Charles Barnhart's birthplace as New York (& mother Clara Barnhart, Michigan).

Also found an additional marriage for Clara in Michigan Marriages 1822-1995:
