hmmm...very interesting.
Yes, that is what we were thinking that without the father she lost income/house and had to move in with her father, and let the two older children go to other families, especially if Jessie had stomach issues, and later was able to remarry. I wonder why she said her parents died in a fire then. Also, I thought she was born 1872-wouldn't that make her 12 at the time of Delberts birth? Do you have Lois' married name? My mom thought she remembers Gma Jessie visiting Lois (family reunions)in the late 40's thru the late 50's- and helping her send out Christmas cards to her.
Of course I would LOVE to have any documents you have...as well as tips on how you found so much information. I have been able to put some time into our geneology periodically, and am thrilled when I find the information(much on Grma Jessie's husband Clinton Lewis as well as the Holzinger line)...but when I hit dead ends like with Grandma Jessie's line, I have to set it aside for a bit and start again later. I would love to be able reciprocate and give you any information I have and add to your line, however you seem to be leap years ahead of me :) However, I will continue to search for little Margaret as well. Did you try any of Clara's remarried names for Margaret? or adoptions (as step parents sometimes adopt them)?
Let me know how else I could be of help to you as well.
Thanks!
