Betty Ann Darst Barnes made her final journey home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on April 29, 2013. Her final days were spent surrounded by her beloved children. She was born August 2, 1922 in Fredonia, KS to Frank and Maud Skaggs Darst. She married Randall Barnes in January, 1942 and moved to Panama City, Florida. She was an active member of Central Pentecostal Ministries, where she loved working with Missionettes and attending the weekly Ladies' prayer meeting. Her passions included family, gardening, and sewing. Her greatest gift was the example she set for her family and anyone else who took the time to know her as a Mother and a Christian. Mom was the definition of kindness, and she was adored by everyone who knew her. The driving force in her life has always been her love for Jesus. Betty is survived by her sister, Gwen Spillman; one son: Randall Barnes and wife Cheri; daughters: Pat Barnes; Vonda Sexton and husband Ken; five grandchildren: Kristen, Jill, Jessica, Caleb and Erin; two great-grandchildren: Bradley and Chase. She was preceded in death by her husband, Randall Barnes and her great-grandson; Jaxon Sappington. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 3, 2013 at Central Pentecostal Ministries with Rev. Don Shoots officiating. Interment will follow at Kent Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Heritage Funeral Home. Those wishing to extend a word of condolence may do so at www.heritagefhllc.com. We will miss you Mom, because you were our earthly example of Jesus; we will now continue our journey so we can one day stand with you on the streets of Glory praising Our Lord and Savior with you.
