Am hoping to find some family of James Barnes, born 1781 in Virginia. Married Elizabeth Sargent. They had 4 or 5 children, James 1823; Julia 1828. They lived in Otter Creek area of Vigo County Indiana, Terre Haute. Julia married George Patrick, a doctor. James died 1863 in Vigo cty Ind.
He had 2 nieces. Susan and Mary Stilson(Stetson) who I believe traveled westward to Indiana abt 1820.
