Looking for my Barnes ancestors! I don't have any info before my great-grandfather. I am the granddaughter of Emory Gene Barnes (02 Aug 1931-21 Nov 1991). I am the great-granddaughter of Everet Bert Barnes, 1897-1937, husband to Lissie Mitchell. I know Everett was the son of John Barnes and Lizzie Creed. Lizzie's the daughter of Shadrack & Mary Rickman, & she was married before John to Alonzo Christian and after John to James Van Dyke. Per census records, John had to have died b/t 1900-1910. Last residences were in the McDowell Co WV & Tazewell Co VA areas. John's parents may have been Stanford & Frances, & he might have been born in NC. Everet's death certificate lists his father's birthplace as Tazewell, but as it was reported by my Great-Uncle Frank, he might not have known if that was correct or not. Any info greatly appreciated!!!!
