I just posted a query about J. W. Barbour, Photographer, Chambersburg, PA. to the Franklin County Historical Society.

We just received a gift from a fellow researcher of a photograph of my wife's great grandfather, Milton George McFerren. It was taken by the above photographer. We are trying to determine the years of operation of his studio to aid in the dating of the photograph.

Shippensburg is located in the north eastern part of Franklin Co., and Chambersburg is in the south centeral part of the county. They are quite a distance from each other.

If I hear anything about him I will post answer here.
