Looking for information on Mariano Barbera (1874 - 1944). He was from Sicily. I believe the town was called Lucca Sicula. Don't think he came initially to Colorado from Sicily. He may have been in either New York, Chicago, or Louisiana before acquiring the ranch in Colorado. He was married to Maria Ragusa. They had 10 surviving children: Joseph, Carrie, Peter, Austin, Mary, Angela, Helen, Laura, Florence, and Clara. They had a prosperous cattle ranch in Colorado which, as legend goes, Mariano lost in a hand of poker. The family relocated to Brooklyn. Mariano also had a sister named Felicia (her married name was Felicia Vaccaro). Sound familiar to anyone?
