Rev Joseph Barbee is a descendant of the Andrew Barbee line. Now I have to find the family. To my surprise his wife, Margaret A Lemon, was the daughter of John M Lemon & his wife Mary Polly Barbee. The marriage bond was posted in Bourbon Co., Ky, signed by Nathaniel Barbee & John Lemon. Permission for " my daughter Polly Barbee" to wed John Lemon was signed by Leannah Barbee. This info ended my hope that Rev Joseph Barbee was the son of this Joseph & Leannah Barbee. I do however believe Joseph (Leannah's husband) is the youngest son of Thomas & Margaret Williams Barbee. They both died when Joseph was about 9 yrs old. He may have been raised by one of his older siblings. So...Rev Joseph Russell Barbee is still a mystery but the Russell name does appear in Andrew Barbee's family. I have found some family group records listing Joseph Russell Barbee as the son of Elijah Barbee who died in Bourbon Co., KY. I would like to see proof of this claim. Is Elijah Barbee also related to the Andrew Barbee family?
