Francis Gibson BALLENTINE 1791/1826 was seven when he arrived in Philadelphia. His father George died before he was fully grown, but somehow he received enough theological education to be called as pastor of the Deerfield Presbyterian Church in Cumberland Co., NJ, where he served for five years with his wife Eliza McCLINTOCK and their two boys, George Whitfield Ballentine and Francis G. BALLENTINE, Jr. 1820/1889. George died unm. Francis Sr. died very young in 1826, his widow returned to Philadelphia. Francis Jr. married Elizabeth SHOCH, daughter of Henry Rorer SHOCH and Elizabeth ROBERTS. I have ancestral data on these surnames if anyone is interested. Gene in Gotha.
