The "Early Settlers of Lee Co. Va." state that Stephen was born circa 1625 in Gloucestershire, England. Then migrated to Westmoreland Va.
His wife was Anne Jeffries Walker. Also born in Gloucestershire. And was previously married. ( widow ? )
I would have to dig through my records and verify that. But, I believe that is correct.
John Bailey's wife was Elizabeth Walker. I dont believe she was any relation to Anne. Since Anne was widowed and married Stephen before they came to America. And if Elizabeth was descended from the passengers of the Mayflower. Then her family would have arrived here around the time Anne and Stephen were born. But, I would have to do some checking before I ruled out that they weren't by chance cousins.
As far as Elizabeth being from Mass....Again I would have to check and see where my records show her POB. But, from researching the Baileys in the past... I don't recall any mention of her being related to any Walkers that came on the Mayflower. But, if there are some sources indicating that. I would love to know about them . Most of the Mayflower passengers and there descendants are pretty well documented. (Even though only about half of them were Pilgims). So it shouldn't bee too hard to trace. If she is.
I am descended from that Bailey line through my mother.Who was born in Lee Co.
