My grandmother is Erna Marie Banks born on Feb 8, 1911 and married Victor Ferdinand Steinke born on April 6, 1907. My grandmothers father had brought the family here in 1912 and returned to Eisenach, Germany (behind iron curtain--don't know if there is even such a town anymore) to pursue the war and we later found out he died in 1953 over there after starting a new life and a new family. His name was Ernest Bankus born on June 12, 1870 and he was married to Anna Marie Bindel born on April 30, 1871. Their children were Carl & Helene (both came before the rest on the "Kaisern Auguste Victoria" on May 1, 1910, both were also put in a concentration camp over there) Friedrich, Albert, Marie, Henry, Dora, Erna and Max. My grandmother is the last one alive out of the family. My grandmother would also have cousins by the last name of Lucas. Berta Schneider took care of Ernest, would be 99 today if she were still alive. If you think we could be related I would love to hear from you.
