My great great great grand mother is Melvina J. Babcock. She was married to Datus Dayton. From my records that my mother and grand mother found she was born in Orange, Ohio on November 5, 1844 to a J. D. possibly "John" Babcock and Deborah maiden name unknown. I put John's name into Ancestry.com and came up with a marriage record in Ohio for a James D. Babcock and Deborah Dunwell in 1842. When I looked at family trees with there names it said they had a daughter Malvina J. Babcock born in 1845 and a son Charles Babcock born in 1865 and in one it said Charles was married and had son John Densmore Babcock. My ancestor Melvina had a son named John Densmore Dayton. Deborah parents where listed as Samuel Addison Dunwell and Eleanor Ann Brown and Samuel parents being Stephan A. Dunwell and Deborah Witter and that Stephan was in the Revolutionary War. Could Malvina and my ancestor Melvina be the same person?
