Looking for information on my father's side of family, Dad had a stroke some years ago, can't get much info from him. Baade's from Iowa, he said his dad's name was Hank or Henry, died when my dad was 5 or 6 of cancer, so maybe died around 1945 or so? Grandma was Elizabeth, after Grandpa Baade died Elizabeth married a Henry Oudekerk.
My daughter has CMT and trying to research if could have come from Baade side of family

I was just interested in your subject line re the pronounciation of Baade as "Bay-de" - we have always pronounced Baade as "Bardy". Maybe the Australian Baade's are a bit different to other ones (!).
Sorry I can't help with your actual question.
Peter. [Brisbane, Australia]

Yes, my Baade's are pronounced Bardy as well (again - I'm in Australia).
Peter, when did your Baade's come over? Mine came in the 1850's (Jacob Bernhard Baade) and settled in Sale, Victoria marrying Sarah Gibbs.
Happy Hunting everyone.
