According to my grat-grandmother's writing,
her father was Johan Frederick Buttner, with the umlaug(sp) over the "u" and her mother was Marie Catherine Margarethe (Oltmanns).

My g-grandmother was born in Germany and I have a listed birth certificate #. Is there any way to get a copy of that?

Hi Agnes.
With the certificate No. and the town or standesamt it is easy to find the issuer of the birth certificate and a copy.

My father was Theodor Karl Büttner ,born in Schömberg in silesia on November 02.1885.

Died in Berlin , Germany.
Do you have any connection ??

Surnames: Buttner
Hi Hans, from Alberta Canada. My inquery im afraid is a shot in the dark, as I dont have a lot of information on who I am seeking. Her name is Martha Buttner. Born (according to her daughter) August 29th 1911. She married a Max Kirste, and together they had my Aunt Helene Renata Martha Kirste (Now Smith) All traces of Martha Buttner, Kirste disapeared during WW2 in Germany. Max Kirste went on to marry again, and my Aunt was raised by her stepmother..It seems Max left his new wife and biological child as well. Any help or information regarding this would be most appreciated, as my aunt has been seeking the story of her mother for years.
Kindest Regards
