Hello. I'm just starting a search for my family. My great-grandfather was Peter Azar Helow. He was born in Lebanon (Jezzene, I believe) and moved to Gardner, Massachusettes in the early 1900's. In 1934, Peter and his wife, Mary moved to Jacksonville, Florida. As I said, I'm just starting this project, so I don't have dates yet.
Do you think there might be a connection?

Sheri,

My great grandfather is named Peter Abraham Azar. His wife's name is Mary Mansoor. They were both from Lebanon. Are we talking about the same Peter Azar? As near as I can tell, he lived in Philadelphia, PA. He had two daughters and four sons.

I don't think they are the same, but I'll check with my grandfather to see if he remembers a Peter Abraham in the family.

Fascinating information. My grandfather was one of those physicians. I am Alexander James Azar III, and I still live in Louisiana. My 17 year-old son's name is Alex James Azar. The Azar clan roots are deep here.
