Hello Julio, my name is Pedro V. Ayarzagoitia. My father & grandfather were also named Pedro, but go by the name of "Pete". My grandfather & fathers' family are from the south Texas area, near the city Corpus Christi, including the towns of Alice, Bishop, Frafurios & Robstown. I don't know much about my father's family, dur to an early divorce between he & my mother. I do know that my grandfather died in Houston in 1988 or 1989. I had an uncle Porforio Ayarzagoitia pass away in 1999. I believe that my father still lives in the Houston area. I teach CCE at my local parish & I recently met a third or second cousin with our last name. Here name is Maribel Ayarzagoitia. Her dad's name is Guillermo Ayarzagoitia. His dad's name was Rogelio Ayarzagoitia. I don't know much more than that, but do know when I do see our name, I am looking at family. Please feel free to e-mail me. Su amigo y primo, Pedro.

Pedro V it sounds like you have met my Uncle Guillermo and cousin.Rogelio is my great Uncle. My grandfather Jesus worked in the area around Corpus many years ago and I remember him talking about a cousin Pedro who lived in that area. I live in Houston and so does alot of our family but we also have alot who live in Mexico. I'm going to Mexico in a week and I'll talk to my grandfather and ask him alot more about our ancestry. Where have you heard our name comes from Spain,Mexico, Czecholosvakia. I knew a librarian who had been to Spain and she said there was a street named after us there. You are right about our name not being common and all of us being family. Maybe we can have a family reunion someday and all get to know each other. I dont your e-mail but mine is jandeayarzagoitia@prodigy.net
