Silas Axtell (b. 1831), son of Thadeus Axtell (b. 1806) and Bethsheba Condit (b. 1804) in Sandy Creek, Mercer County, PA in 1840, 1850, & 1860.

Children of Thadeus Axtell were: Silas, Ezekiel, Zenas, Marietta, Samuel Newell, and Ruth.

Silas married Mary Tuttle about 1852 in Sandy Creek. They had a son, Albert, born 1854 in Illinois and a son, Abraham, born 1863 in Iowa.

Am also seeking information regarding Jane Wendell born Feb 1836 in Pennsylvania, with both parents born in Pennsylvania.

Silas next married Jane Wendell 4 May 1870 in Monona County, Iowa. Their children are Zenas Erhman (1871), Mary Emma (1873), George Silas (1874), and Ova (1879).

Silas died about 1878-1880. Jane Axtell, widow, is seen on the census in Jewell County, Kansas, with their children, all born in Iowa.

Jane remarried, James Henry Lee in Jewell County, Kansas, and had son Odie Clarence Lee born 1 Dec 1880.
