On the 1930 census he was living in New Haven CT with his wife Elsie and son, Frank A Jr., and gives 1912 as his immigration year.

There is a passenger record of his arrival on the Oscar II on May 1 1893. The passenger list gives his father Anders Axelsen of Nørresundby as his nearest relative in Denmark, and his cousin Edward Andersen of New haven as the person he is going to in the US.

A look in the Nørresundby parish records found his birth/baptism record actually has his name as " Frank Arnold Marinus Andersen Bak Axelsen". His parents were (unmarried) Elisabeth Dorthea Sophie Mortensen of Nørresundby and Niels Peter Andersen Bak of Aalborg. There is a note that he was adopted by his stepfather Anders Axelsen.
