Hi Brenda,
How do you know of the Axcell family? My grandfather, Reginald James Axcell is from Bromley Kent England. Settled here in Ontario. I cannot recall the name of his parents. I heard of a gold mine that my great grandmother (my grandmother's side - Scottish, Irish), might have had a part in, but don't know anything further about it. My grandfather was decorated by King George VI in Yorkshire England at a military base. Why are you researching our family name?

Hello, my grandfather William John Axcell was born in England and emigrated with his mother Ellen, his brother Reginald in 1911. His father William Henry John Axcell emigrated a year earlier. They settled in Kirkland Lake, Ontario at the time of the gold rush. My mother was Helen Axcell. I do know that my great uncle Reg was decorated by King George IV! I assume you are a cousin of my mother!

Your great Uncle then must be my Grandfather. He was also Chief of Police in Ottawa, Ontario. I will have to see if my other family members remember more details of past Axcells. My name is Ingrid and I have a brother named, Reginald and a sister named Brigitte.

Yes, he is, your grandmother's name is Nina, I had your brother Reg as a friend on Facebook, but he doesn't appear to be there anymore. I was hoping to gather more information about your side of the Axcells with Reg, but he didn't appear to be too interested and I understand, most people get the deer in the headlights look when I talk about the family tree.I see you are on Ancestry. If you search the records for Helen Axcell (My mother) and click on Family trees, you will see two trees, mine and Mike Cooper. Mike is my cousin, his mom is Joan - my mother's sister. Mike has done extensive work on the tree! Also, Simon Axcell who is one of my friends on Facebook, provided oodles of info on the Axcells in England. We share a great-great-great-great-great grandfather. Any info that you can provide or that I can share would be just great. If you are on Facebook and would like to be my friend, just enter Brenda Marie Marchese!!!! Hope to hear from you.
