Hi the only names I really have at the moment are Eric and Herbert (Bert). Dont know whether either of these have shown up on your searches? They would have been born about 1915-1920. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Phil
I have checked on my family tree again and I find that I have a James born 1828 in Kempston Bedford. If this is really the right connection I can go back to mid 1600's .However I have not seen any proof of the connection yet but it is a possibility.
Regards margaret

Margaret,

Just a bit of info incase you dont have it:

I believe the AXHAMs were from Marston then were in Kempston [just a couple of miles away]...

Robert AXHOM of Marston Moretaine was enrolled in the County Militia in 1683..

Wm BENNETT, labourer, of Aspley Guise was seved with a bastary order for the child of Mary AXHAM [dated 1729].

Wayne Carter in Australia is researching the Kempston AXHAMs [Francis AXAM who arrived in Sydney in 1830] - you can reach him at:

Thanks for your e-mail. I have some of this info already but thanks for the rest. I have axam's in it's various spellings back to 1650 in Bedfordshire with many branches. I was in touch with Wayne a long time ago and had much info from him. Thanks again for you thought. If I can help anyone at all just pass on my e-mail address. Happy to help.
regards Margaret Sullivan

Hi, I am a daughter of Brian Axam son of William Axam, Do you have ancestory records I can see in case it is my relations? My Aunt June Axam Adams has been doing research, and Uncle reg Axam is my grandfathers brother.

Bev

Do you know roughly when William AXAM was born & in which place or county?

I cant tell anything by what you have said so far...if your grandfather was alive in 1901 check out the 1901 census [the 1891 census for Bedfordshire is now complete and on-line too at free cen] and please check out the free BMD too.

cathy
Ps do you know William AXOMs wife's maiden name - even her christian name is better than nothing and roughly which century they married in?
