Tim,
I'm not sure if you're still looking for information re: Gust Ax from Manistee, MI as your post was from several years ago.
If you are, I would be happy to exchange what information I have - he is also my greatgrandfather.
Thanks!

Re: Gust Ax, from Sweden to Manistee, MI
I am looking for information on a miss Ax who married a man named Polcyn circa 1948. They were from the Manistee, Michigan area according to what info I have.

Re: Gust Ax, from Sweden to Manistee, MI
Hi Ann, Tim Hall was my brother who died in 2006 but I too am looking for information and have found quite a bit. If you'd like to share perhaps we can put something together that is more solid. I recently visited their homesite in Manistee still owned by a member of the Ax family. I also have a pic of the house, barn and grave.
Your cousin, Peggy Hall

Dear Eugene, I have a newspaper arictle on Lorraine Ax Polcyn who was married in Manistee on May 14th 1955. I haven't scanned it yet but I have some additional information as well. Lorraine is/was my mother's first cousin.

Re: Gust Ax, from Sweden to Manistee, MI
Hello Peggy Hall, We must be cousins as well. My Grandpa was Edward Bernadotte (sometimes listed in error as Benedict) Ax, my mom was Marjorie Lea Ax Barker. I am just beginning to do a family search, creating my family tree on Ancestor.com. I am fascinated in learning more, and how we are related. Thanks for sharing your research Janice Miller (Barker)

Hi Janice, your mother was my mother's 1st cousin and according to Ancestry that makes us 2nd cousins. Our grandfathers were brothers.

Re: Gust Ax, from Sweden to Manistee, MI
Hi Again, Did your grandpa and family (maybe you?) live in Alaska? If so, we may have met you in 1983. We lived in Anchorage and met with my Grandpa Ax's brother Ben's family near Christmas. We were given two hand painted ceramic Christmas ornaments from your family. I cherish them and continue to use them to decorate our tree each year. One is a pale yellow moon with an angel and the other is a Currier and Ives style design on a round ornament. Our son Jeffrey was about 6 years old then. We moved back to Michigan in 1984 and didn't keep in touch. I am so glad to find you! Janice
