Proof that John Autry who was residing in Blount County TN in 1800 was one of the six surviving children of Lieutenant Simon Autry of the Wilkes County Georgia Patriot Militia who was killed in a skirmish near King's Mountain in 1780, is to be found in transcript form in _Wilkes County, Georgia Deed Books A - VV 1704-1806_ compiled by Michal (sic) Martin Farmer, and published by Farmer Genealogy Company, Dallas, Texas, 1996. This is proof that this John was Simon's son, only... not any of the other stuff I just said. That is in affidavits of Thomas and his son S. R. (Sidney Runnels) Bankston in the Revolutionary War pension record of Jacob Kelly (R5843).

This also proves that Captain John Autry of the Wilkes County Georgia Patriot Militia was NOT a son of Simon, because Captain John Autry was killed by Creek Indians on the banks of Richland Creek near Scull Shoals on the Oconee on 2 February 1788.

Mr. Farmer's large two-volume book can be purchased in Windows compatible CD format for $25, here: http://michalfarmer.com/ (I have no association with Mr. Farmer, financial or otherwise.)

If anyone wants a photographic copy of just the pertinent part of the page (617), you may contact me by e-mail.
