Classification: Query
Surnames: CURTIS, KUNKEL, BOONE, CARPENTER, PADDLEFORD, KITE, WILLIAMS, DODD, COLLINS, POUNDS, CAVE
WE HAVE WHAT LOOKS TO BE TWO SEPARATE AUTRY LINEAGES IN TEXAS AFTER THE CIVIL WAR YEARS.

1. LEWIS AUTRY married Lucy DODD in burleson co. tx in 1870. They bought land in Bandera co. and in the 1880 census she is again listed as lucy dodd, but was buried after 1885 in milam co. tx as lucy ann autry. No knowledge is known of lewis autry except that the legned claims he was a traveling preacher. any help with this family is appreciated. His wife was living in San Augustine co. in 1860, and had family in milam, falls, brazos, burleson and surrounding counties.
2, LOUCENDIA AUTRY is thought to be the wife of lorenzo Dow CURTIS, and she was born sept 7, 1836 in unknown county-most probably, Georgia. She died in Eastland, tx. in 1899. Her parents or birth place is unknown as are her siblings.

There is a distant connection to these two familys. Sarah Gorda Curtis was the oldest child of Loucendia Autry and her husband, Lorenzo Curtis. Sarah Gorda married sam Kunkel and a descendant of this union married a descendant of the
wife of lewis autry known as lucy ann cave dodd autry.

Any help with the Curtis family would really help as this little granny sarah gorda curtis kunkel is lost in time. thanks, judy
