Let me add a blip to this discussion of Texas Autrey's.
I am hunting for Samuel Edward Autrey born 1895 in Missouri/Texas/Georgia (take you pick) and died 1954 in the VA hospital in Dallas.
His parents were probably Taylor Autrey and Mary Flowers.
He married (1) Annie May Howard (parents Carl J. Howard and Mary Ellen Housden) and (2) Ruby Del Austin (parents Andrew F. Austin and Sally Panther)
Samuel and Annie apparently divorced. They had 5 children Ruby (married a Valentine, a Crabtree and a Bell), Woodrow married Cora Mae Price, Mary Jo married a Williams, Bobby (male) and an infant who died young. Samuel and his family lived in Grayson and Dallas Counties, Texas They may have had connections with Hopkins and Harris County Texas as well
