Thanks for replying. On the 1890 census I found my Grandfather Richard Auld living with his Grandfather John Auld in Backworth. Other names on the census are James, George, Margaret. I looked up mining accidents during the time and found some of the Aulds in that time were killed in mining accidents. I belive the family originaly came from Scotland
