I just found out after searching for 21 years my birth name is Aucoin. Jeffrey Andrew Aucoin to be exact. Hopefully I can find out information about my lineage here. I was born March 28 1969 at Misericordia Hospital in the Bronx to a woman who was from and returned to Maine after my birth, still searching for her jsut to say hello and let her know I am alive and well and to find out if I have any brothers and sisters,

Dont know where in Maine she was from but I know she had red hair and worked in a jewelery store and was French. Anyways by tracking my birth certificate number I found out my birth last name and am now doing research on that name any help would be appreciated

Expulsion of Aucoin from Acadia

I'm fairly new at researching my Aucoin ancestors which are:
Martin Aucoin born about 1570 La Rochelle, son Martin b.1595 La Rochelle, son Martin b. about 1647 La Rochelle, son Alexis b. 1684 Beaubassin, Nova Scotia (but died 1759 in France), son Pierre b. 1708 Nova Scotia died 1757 Quebec. It looks like the latter two were expelled from Acadia-one to France one to Quebec. Does anyone have information on these expulsions?

I am researching my Aucoin side of the family and have hit a wall with Jules Celestine Aucoin, my ggrandfather. He was born in La. about 1836 (possibly near Baton Rouge) and died 02 Nov 1912. He was married to Elizabeth C. Cunningham dob 1838 in Milltown, County Kerry, Ireland. They had 6 children: Jules C. Aucoin II, Florence Caroline Aucoin, Alphonsus Godfrey "Alfred" Aucoin, Emile V. Aucoin, Ernestine Aucoin, plus a 6th unknown child. Alphonsus Aucoin had a business in Baton Rouge and then moved to New Orleans. Does anyone have any info on this family, or on Jules' family? I have been unable to find anything about Jules' parents or siblings. I am especially interested to learn if they came from Acadia or from France. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The Aucoins are also my ancestors. I have traced back to Alexis who married Thecle Lereau on 14-2-1763. Of this much I am sure. From here on back I can't be sure that the following are my ancestors. Can you tell me if they are for sure. Here's the information I have. I think that Alexis'parents are Jean Baptiste Aucoin and Marie Ann Saulnier. Jean Baptist's parents may be Alexis Aucoin and Anne Bourg and Alexis, the son of Martin Aucoin and Marie Gaudet. It would be wonderful if you had a complete list of the 17 children and who they married and who their children married and so on. I don't want much do I?

Albert and Constance had one son, Chester Louis Aucoin B. 7 MAY 1905 D. 31 DEC 1967. Chester married Majorie(Iva) Hall and together had one son, Paris Louis Aucoin. Paris is my husband's father. Aucoin pioneers of Acadia

A source calls Michelle, Jeanne and Martin Aucoin pioneers to Acadia, now Nove Scotia. Michelle m. Michel Boudrot, Jeanne married Francois Girard. Then the source states Martin m. Marie Gaudet. If was speculated that we was the son of Martin and Marie Salle and he well might have been but I believe he was not the Martin refered to as pioneer. I believe the Martin referred to as pioneer was Martin who married Marie Salle in France in 1632. We know that she was in Acadie, the widow of Jean Claude according to the 1678 and 1686 census. Martin who married Marie Gaudet was born about 1651, age 35 at the 1686 census. However, Michelle Aucoin was 65, her husband 86 and Jeanne was 55, her husband 70 and Marie Salle was also 86. It would make much more sense to assume that he was probably the brother of Michelle and Jeanne and not their father and that the three came together and married in Port Royal, or were all ready married and brought their families. We know Martin and Marie Salle were married in France. The ages made no sense in trying to make Martin and Marie the parents of Michelle and Jeanne, but sisters fits. If anyone out there has documentation to prove that they were the parents of a Martin who came with Jeanne and Michelle please contact me.

Descendants of Martin AUCOIN & Suzanne BARBOTEAU

I have been researching the descendants of Martin Aucoin & Suzanne Barboteau and found that there are descrepancies in research material that I found on Ancestry.com. Many family trees list two children of this couple. A Joseph Dominique Martin Aucoin and a Francois Martin Aucoin. Both of these at some time married the same woman, Anne Marie Salle. Some how they both m. Anne around 1615. Also some state that Joseph Dominique Martin m. Anne on 1/20/1632.

Does anyone have the answer to this mystery.

LEBANON-Maurice L. Aucoin, 70, formerly of Henniker and Hopkinton, died Monday at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in White River Junction, Vt. He was born in Manchester, the son of Wilfred and Therese Lucie (Favreau) Aucoin. He was raised in Henniker, moving to Hopkinton in 1946 and Lebanon in 1961. Aucoin earned a GED while serving in the U.S. Navy. He served with the U.S. Navy stationed on the aircraft carrier USS Bon Homme Richard. He worked as a barber for Dick Courtemarsh Barber Shop in Lebanon and later at the V.A. Hospital in White River Junction, Vt., retiring in 1994. He then worked as a school crossing guard for eight years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Catholic Order of Foresters and the NRA. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ann (Messer) Aucoin of Lebanon; two brothers, Roger Aucoin of Henniker and Edward Aucoin of Clovis, N.M.; three sisters, Bernadette Crane, Jeannine Aucoin and Rita Murdough, all of Henniker; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. His parents; a sister, Lillian Stitz; and a niece and two nephews, died previously. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated today at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church of Lebanon. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Armand W. Aucoin, 61, of Hooksett, died Friday at Catholic Medical Center after a short illness. He was born in Manchester, the son of George and Simone (Favreau) Aucoin. He was a Hooksett resident for many years. He worked as a machinist for J.F. McElwain Shoe Co. for many years. He was a communicant of St. George Church in Manchester. Survivors include a sister, Lucille Barton of Hooksett; and a niece and a nephew. After cremation, a committal service will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. in Mount Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Road, Manchester. Urn burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. I'm looking for info on Virginia Aucoin who immigrated from Canada in the mid-1800's. She married Jules Balliot and had several children. I believe she died in the early 1900's...before 19190. And, I believe they lived in Ohio. Interested mostly in finding the names of her children. My father, Felix (Billy) Balliot was my father. He was said to have had 2 brothers who were attorneys but we have never been able to find any info on them.

Over the past few months I have been trying to retrace my Aucoin ancestry online and can't get past my grandfather Joseph Alfred Aucoin\Wedge(1909-1987) and his father Joseph Aucoin\Wedge (????-1945). I know Joseph Aucoin's wife's last name was Melanson and my grand mother was named Rose Wedge but born Maryanne-Rosalyn Leclair. Yvonne,

I found the Alexis I was looking for. His father was Martin and his mother was Elisabeth Boudreau. Alexis was married at least twice. Once to Marie Josephe Babin and also to my ancestor, Thecle Lareau. Does this ring any bells with your research or am I in an entirely different family. My source doesn't go back farther than Martin and Elisabeth Bourdeau who were married before 1726.

I am looking for family of Paul Aucoin Sr. b. 10/14/1877 d.5/23/1950 and Ida Ledet Aucoin b.5/15/1883 d. 4/2/1979. They are buried in St Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux, La.They had a son Paul G.Jr and a daughter Rosemarie. I have a picture of Paul Sr., Paul Jr. and some of Rosemarie. I would very much like to see someone in their family get them.
