All Stephen White could ascertain was that Michelle (spouse of Michel Boudrot) and Jeanne (spouse of François Girouard) were indeed sisters; but would not commit himself to say that they werethe daughters of a Martin Aucoin. The Martin you refer to was son of another man ALSO named Martin who married Marie Salé; the elder Martin Aucoin died in La Rochelle, and mother (remarried to Jean Claude) and her son, Martin (who married Marie Gaudet), made their way to Acadia. Martin Jr. is indeed the ancestor of all the Aucoins in North America. Perhaps this is what your sources meant to tell you. To my knowledge, it cannot be positively proven with documents that Martin Jr. is related to Michelle or Jeanne, although no doubt, some will disagree with this that it can. As you stated, the ages don't jive, and this suggests two marriages for Martin Sr., the girls being born of his first marriage; the son Martin Jr. of his second marriage. The research on this family needs to continue if we are to learn this is truly the case.
