Charles Jacob "Jake" Wilkerson, the son of John W. Wilkerson and Mary Ann Atzenhoffer, was born on the 3rd of December of 1869 at Old Town Indianola, Calhoun County, Texas. On the 30th of December of 1889, Jake married Lena Augusta Miller in Louise, Wharton County, Texas. At the time of his death at age 66, Jake was a Southern Pacific railroad engineer. He died at his home in Wharton, Wharton County, Texas on Tuesday, the 16th of June of 1936. He was buried with Masonic rites in the Palacios Cemetery, Matagorda County, Texas on Wednesday, the 17th of June of 1936.
