I've copied Lake County, IL census information that I'd researched for my cousin on the ATKINSON family from Lake County, IL. Would like to hear from anyone who may have knowledge of this family:

W = Wife
S = Son
D = Daughter
States or Countries listed indicate where born and are in this order: Self... Father... Mother

1860 Census - Libertyville

John HH 62 b. IR
Catherine W 58 b. IR
Bridgett D 19 b. IL
Mary D 19 b. IL
Mathew D 17 b. IL

1870 Census - Libertyville

This family is the same as the one above (based on ages, etc.). Mathew married Sarah Ann Nolan on 11/18/1867 in Lake County. John F and Jane M. O'Mahoney married in Lake County on 4/15/1870. However, I could not find them after 1870 anywhere in IL. My guess is that Mary is Mat & Sarah's child (married long enough). John, the 1 year old child, is probably their's also. That leaves the two children, William and Joseph, born in TX. Now we need to theorize some possibilities. John and Catherine are old and certainly could have older children who left the nest and moved away.... or perhaps John and Catherine once lived in TX and left older children there who were raising their own children. The parents of these two children died perhaps? Either way, my guess is that these two children are their grandchildren or possibly they are the children of a brother of the John who is 72 yrs of age. And of course there are other possibilities. I could not find a William Atkinson, aged 3 to 5, in TX in the 1860 census.

1900 Census - Libertyville

In Illinois cyberdrive site, there is a Joseph S. who married Lucy Myers in Lake County on 11/19/1879.... Louisa/Louise (below) is probably Lucy because she shows up as Lucy in 1910 census. However, her birthname is most likely Louisa or Louise). This census shows first the person's age, then month & year born.
