I am seeking Goerge Atkin who married Elisabeth Bailey and lived in Ddoveridge, Derbys, my GG. his son, David was born in 1824, which puts my george in about the same period for birth as william in 1805 in Barlborough. Is it near to Doveridge. Any clues?

Hello Jean and thank you for your message. Mine start off near the coast around Hornsea and stay there for 200 years until my grandfather moved further west to the Brough area. It is an unusual name so there could be links. Regards - Henry

Hello thanks for getting back to me but my Atkin were alaways in the North east then I know that William Atkin moved to The area that you are on about. It's rather strange really as my mother lived in Brough some 35 yrs ago and she thought that she had found her dad in that area but when she enquired he had not long since died. His name was William and he was born in May 1879. Regards Jean
