Surnames: ATHA,
Sorry didn't get back to you quicker. Jeanie.
my Atha's start with my great great grandmother on my mothers side.ESTHER ATHA b.may 24.1835 in Bramley. d.Dec 1925 in Wakefield .West Yorkshire.uk. she married Alfred Pollard Curtis in Bradford.her parents were Thomas Atha b April 24th 1813 Bramley by Leeds d Dec 1880 somewhere in Yorkshire, and Sarah nee Cowling b 1814 Bramley by Leeds.d. 1877 Yorkshire.
they had other children,.David b 1838,Ruth b 1840, Frederick b.1845 (through his birth cert i found their mothers maiden name),Sarah b 1847,Elizabeth b 1849,Lucy b 1852 and Alice b 1856.all b.in Bramley by Leeds.
parents of Thomas b 1813 were Thomas Atha b 1779 Bramley d,1853 Yorkshire and ESTHER (HASTER) AUSTIN B ABT 1779..other children were Joseph b 1808 at Holbeck Leeds and Sarah b march 28th 1811 at Bramley, she married a Martin Riley and died in Wakefield. her son Austin emigrated to America.
This Thomas b 1779 was preceded by Thomas Atha b abt 1759 and Thomas Atha b abt 1739..(those dates determined by the 20 year rule to give me an idea of the era im looking at.)
a lot of this needs verifying. i have certificates but only upto Frederick Atha b 1845.
does any of this tie in with yours?
