My grandfather was Armenag Atamian, born 1869. He was the son of Adam and Margaret Atamian. Siblings were Joseph, Esther and Shoushan. Does anyone have knowledge of the family line? Armenag and the family first came to Massachusettes from Armenia or Turkey in the 1880's then later(1915) settled in Fresno, CA. The Atamian name was changed to Adams to prevent prejudice. Any relatives or knowledge of our heritage, please contact me. I live in Merced, CA. Thank you.

My granfather changed his name from Sarkiss Atamian to Lutfig Sarkissian when he joined the french army in beirut in WORLD WAR 2.
He married Verjeen Hagopian.
His brother Guiragos Atamian and his family are our only relatives here.My grandfather's father's name was Artine Atamian.

This information sounds familiar but not sure if it's the same line or not. My grandfather's name was Harry and moved from Armenia to MA in the late 1920's. He married Helen and they had three children, my mother, Harry and Shirley. I know my grandparent's divorced when my mother was 16 and he relocated out to California - my mother was familiar with the name "Adams" in CA but that was a long time ago. Does this information sound familiar to you?
