I look forward to hearing from all you Atack`s!

I have a well documented Atack line starting with William Atack (b 1707) and Anne Sykes, with hundreds of Atacks that followed. I also wrote via snail mail to EVERY Atack in the US and UK about 10 yrs ago, asking for Atack history, and got many many letters back, with detailed Atack info (alas, only a few of them were my Atacks, but a lot of good info. Thanks for starting the Atack posting list, and I will try to answer questions as I have time.

Hi, as you see I'm George Atack from southern New Jersey, not far from Atlantic City. I am tracing my family tree and have gotten back to Thomas and Jane (Armitage) Atack from Around Wakefield, Yorkshire. My Great, Great Grandfather Sylvester came to Philadelphia in 1851. I am very interested in finding out as much as I can about our family. I would like to hear from you, and would br happy to share any information that I have on my family.

Hi George ,Mike and any others looking in on this Atack thread.

George I have just emailed you re Sylvester-have found him for you on the 1841 census but he is not living with Thomas or Jane but they are Atacks so must be some relation!
I have had a quick look on 1851 then realised Sylvester was probably en route to America .
You can either post here and we will try and help you get back a bit further or email me and I will have a look as when I have spare time.
If any one is struggling please ask here -I`m fairly confident someone will be able to help with census info etc.
Regards

Diane
