My g-g-grandfather is Heinrich Asche, most probably from the Hannover area of Germany. I have the following info: born 1835; lived in Illinois (Chgo suburbs) and also owned land in Iowa; married Dorothea Schorling; died 1869. Dorothea re-married to Fred Buchholz. Children were: Alwine, Emma (my g-grandmother), Julius, Adolph, Sophia, and August. Think Heinrich had a brother named Wilhelm. Willing to share - am trying to determine date of immigration, home in Germany, etc.

Whatever I can do to help let me know? Have very little info on ASCHE family. My late husband came from Portsmouth, OH as did his father before his. That's all I know about them.

FYI: This is a different Heinrich (Harry) Asche than the one from Ohio but the dates are similar so be careful in your research not to confuse them!

My grandmother was Wilhemina(spelling?) (Ruth) Asche and my grandfather was Arnold Asche. Arnold committed suicide before I was born and my grandmother passed away in the 90's. I have lots of papers and have seen those names. If you would like, I can go through them and tell you what I can find out. Dennis (Arnold's son) was my dad. He too committed suicide when I was 10 yrs. old. I know he was adopted by Arnold and Ruth and I have tried to find my biological grandparents for several years but have had no such luck. If you know anything, I would appreciate your help. Please let me know how I can help you and I will try.
