Ok, my grandfather had a brother named Carl. I never met him because I think he passed away when I was either too small or maybe I wasn't born yet. My grandfather was Erving Arvidson. His mother was Alma Nelson (maiden name) who married Arvid Arvidson I think. It's hard to remember what my grandpa told me. My grandpas brothers and sisters were Mabel, Signe, Carl, Eric, Bert, Ed (Fredrickson as he was adopted out due to their mom was not able to take care of him) they also had a younger sister who died when she was like 9..I can't remember her name.

Charles Arvedson, b.1857; bro. Henry, b.1863, lived Calif., parents Peter & Hannah

I have an original postcard photograph of Arvedsons from McHenry Co., IL, who lived in Colusa Co., CA. Pictured are “Uncle Charlie and Aunt Ella, and Edith; Alice; Uncle Henry and Aunt Martha Arvedson”. I’d like to get the picture back to descendants or family members. Photo was taken in about 1920, and Charlie, Ella, Henry and Martha look to be in their 50s-60s, while Edith and Alice look to be 30s or 40s.

I found the family of Charles and Ella E. Arvedson in the 1900 census for Arbuckle (Colusa Co.) CA, showing Charles born Jul 1857; Ella was age 40, both born IL, and Edith C. was born CA in Jun 1880. OneWorldTree shows Charles Adolphus Arvedson, born McHenry Co., IL on 9 Jul 1857, married in Dec 1877 in McHenry Co. to Ella Strohecker. Edith C. Arvedson was born 18 Jun 1880.

Henry J. Arvedson was age 56 in the 1920 census for Williams (Colusa Co.) CA, and wife was Martha, age 52. OneWorldTree shows Martha was born 29 Nov 1867 in IL, and Henry John, born 22 Aug 1863 in McHenry Co., IL. In 1910, Henry and Martha lived in Colusa Co., but backing up to 1900, Henry J. lived in Blacks (Yolo Co.) CA, and Martha is not shown.

Get back to me at margerice@prodigy.net if you are related to this Arvedson family.

Susan, thanks for getting in touch with me. Your daughter is my 2nd cousin once removed, your ex Andrew is my 2nd cousin and his father Roy is my 1st cousin once removed. I don't have lots on the Arvidson family...only what Clara Bowers and her daughter Kathy gave me, plus a little research. But I have tons on the Bursheim family! Another cousin of mine, Martha Hicks, has posted most (but not all) of it at rootsweb.com. Search for Anna and you'll see it. I'm having problems with my family history program right now so can't send it to you normally. But I will put together what I can and send to you if you want it. My email is khdj@juno.com. Ken Hofstad

I'm looking for any relatives of Helgo Arvidson, born about 1896 in Sweden, I believe his wife was Ethel, born about 1908, came to Prentice, Wisconsin sometime around 1878. This is my husbands family and he don't know much about them. Trying to get a family tree started for him. Gevideon is the name that comes up on the census, so Arvidson is what it was changed to. Helgo's father could have been Chas. Arvidson, there was also a Kathryn (Katherine), Alice, Agnes, Jimmy (died in and accident on the way home from school, possibly 7 0r 8 yrs. old),Arthur, Anna. Helgo or Helgo's son, had a son named "Wilbur", born May 1, 1931, died September 26, 2003. He was married to a Janice Voight. Some relatives may be in Minnesota. Anyone that could help out, please contact me by email: debahawk@hotmail.com

He had brothers Walfrid, Ernest and Joseph. Was a son of Charles and Judith. He also had sisters Judith, Signe and Hulda.
My Grandfather (John Linus Arvidson), came to the US sometime after his brother, Carl Arvidson. He was never reuinited with Carl, never found Carl after coming to the US. They were Swedish, but born and raised in Oslo, Norway. John settled first in Ryder, North Dakota. His parents came over from Norway and lived with his family. He moved to California later and was an egg farmer in San Luis Obispo, CA. He died in 1960 and must have been about 60 years old. He and my grandmother had 9 children. My Dad was the youngest, Howard Arvidson. He died this year at 69. I have 23 cousins on my dad's side around the US. We keep in touch.

Dear Christine, Years ago, when I was little, there was a Christine Arvidson that lived next door. It was in Lk. Hiawatha, NJ. I was born in 1965 and the Christine next door was close to my age. I do not remember a lot from there (we moved around 1975). If this is the same Christine, Hello. I always wondered about you and if you were ok. I remember talking to you from the ground and you were upstairs locked in your room. Hope all went well for you. Best wishes.
