My mother was an Aquilina, and the family came from Serradifalco. Her fathers name was Joseph, and his wife's name was Sarah. Lived mostly in Rochester NY....but when they arrived in this country, think they first went to either Buffalo or Robertsdale, Pa. Any help you can provide will be appreciated. Hey----- could we be related?

Dear Mr Rogers

Your aunt has written to my partner, Jon Wood, though I think she has the wrong family line, as there isn't a Cyril Wood in his family. There is an association called Child Migrants of Malta, which was set up in relation to migrants who were sent to Australia. They say that the Emigrants Commission in Malta might be able to help trace family lines or give information to do so (ie not just for those who went to Australia). Their web address is http://www.vol.net.mt/MT/EN/mec/
If Josephine was sent to Australia, the Child Migrants of Malta can be contacted at Paul Calleja [calleja1948@optusnet.com.au]

Good luck!

Jackie

Hi....My mothers maiden name was Aquilina. The family came to America around the first few years of the 20th century. Possibly earlier. Her fathers name was Joseph, mothers name was Sarah. I'm pretty sure they came from Caltanasetta in Sicily. Lived in NYC, Robertsdale,PA, Buffalo, and finally Rochester, NY. Do we have any connection? Even if not, glad to talk to an Aquilina.

Thank You
