Dear Margaret,
I believe you are my cousin, sister of Brian Ward? My name is Eileen.
I recently had a call from Brian following my efforts to contact Uncle Ivor. SO good to hear from him.
I am the second daughter of John and Alma Applegarth and have three sisters and we are very keen to renew contact with Dad's family. My name is now Bird.
Should you be who I believe you are, I will send more details. I will email Brian too.
Thank you!
Eileen

I don't know if anyone can help me??
I'm trying to find out more about my grandfather's side, I have been lucky enough to track down a few relatives in the USA and one in the UK but I am really stuck now!

My grandfather was born in 1925 as Joseph Harbron Applegarth, Father was Joseph Harbron Applegarth and his mother was Klavida Panfilonova Ekonomova who was born in Constantinople in 1900/01.... This is where I struggle!!
I know Klavida had 3 children (one in Batum, now Batumi, and two in the Manchester area) with Joseph and then went on and had 2 boys David Zeitlin and Michael Applegarth in France (my grandfathers half brothers), I can't find her birth or death certificate or anything on her or where to look?? I have her marriage certificate with Joseph and I know her parents were called Panfil/Pavel and her mother was called Elisaveta that is all :(
Can anyone help??

Hi
Having just discovered an Applegarth in my tree I have just read your message about Richard Applegarth and Mary Palmerley. My research shows they had at least 6 children one of whom was Sarah b. 1786 who married Thomas Rochester in Chester-le-Street in 1810 (my 3x gt grandparents). According to Pallott's marriage Index the eldest son Robert married Ann Fisher in Newcastle in 1807 and he is in the 1841 census as a foundreyman in Bishop Wearmouth.
Have you found any more information in the intervening years since you first posted your message? I would love to hear from you
Best wishes
Sheila

Article taken from The Bulletin, San Francisco, 12 April 1915

WEDDING TODAY

A quiet wedding took place today when Miss Gwendolyn Bride Powers became the bride of Adrian Applegarth. The wedding was to have been an elaborate event of the early summer, but the plans were changed owing to illness in the family and the ceremony was performed at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William H. Powers, on Russian Hill. Only the members of the immediate families were present. Mrs. Powers will give a large reception for her daughter on her return from her honeymoon. Later in the year Mr. Applegarth will take his bride to the Orient for an extended trip.
