Has this a short version of Apanowicz? I am doing the family tree of my mother's side Edna Tomczeszyn Bielamowicz. Her parents were Jacob and Victoria Afinowicz. Since I trying to locate their entry to the USA from Poland/Austria, There are no Afinowicz in Poland but a lot of Apanowicz. Could this be the same name? Foreign language of passengers causes a lot of names to be written wrong.
Thanks for your time and a reply please.

Well, I need all of the information I can get. Right now I am assuming that you and I are second cousins - unless you are Charles Apa born in 1911, which would make you my Great-uncle. My grandmother's name was Ermina (Amelia) Apa Perry. I recently got some information from my (Aunt) Adeline, but unfortunately she could only take me back as far as her parents: Michael and Mary Esposito Apa. From there I have nothing due to the fact that no-one seems to know which Provenzano family adopted Michael in Italy. I am basically at a dead end.

I guess you could start by telling me who you are - so we can determine if we are related, and then tell me what you know...

feel free to email me directly at peteperry@wiltwyck.com.

And THANKS!!!!!

Pete

Pete,
My name is Charles Apa. I was born in Catskill, NY (like so many others). My mother is Ruth (Bigelow) Apa and my father is Chas Apa. We lived at 42 North Warren Street in Athens. My sister (deceased) was Cathy Apa. My fathers family orginated from Calabria in southern Italy. My uncle Jimmy Apa ran an Italian bread bakery in Athens and delivered bread to Catskill and Hudson. I also have an Aunt Adeline. I believe my father was one of about 11 or 12 children.

All for now, will be back. Let me know if this helps you out. Give me some info on yourself. I can run it by my parents.
