In English Frank and when pronounced a [Slavic ear] would hear Frenk. What US record has his first name as Freunk? It has to be a transcribing error. I have seen some of NY EI processing center's arrival manifests where N was written as U but in actuality the letter was N.

Are we to assume that your ancestor was from historical region Galicia that was under Austria's rule?
It would not be Frank in Galicia, you know that. Franz would be German; Franciszek is Polish

On what US record is Freuk? That is an error.
When did Frank ANDORA come to America?
The church marriage record should have some information for you.
The ancestors children' church baptismal record should have some information about their parents as to a place of birth.

ok, i found two certs for john andoras baptism, his name is spelled andura on one and andora on the other. anna(his mother) her name is also spelled differently on both, kopecky and kopetski on the other, the app for marriage is spelled andora and kopetski. so im going with that. john was born nov 3rd 1913. however one of the baptism certs says 1914. walter was born september 13th or 15th, found both. any help would be great

Ok. i am the grand daughter of John Guzik. however the last name he and his brother walter were born with is Andora. Frank or Freuk Andora born 11-4-1890 in Austria. and Anna or annie Kopetski or Kophetski(spelled both ways on ancestry)born in latrobe pa in 2-4-1897were married 7-14-1913.they had two boys. John and walter. their father passed away when the boys were young.(still looking for death cert). Anna Kopetski remarried Joseph Guzik and the boys took his name. i have some kind of paper work with both names on it. guzik and andora from my grandfather, army papers i believe. ill post as soon as i locate them, im looking for for the andora family. i would love to trace back that side of my family. if this sounds like it could be your family please contact me. thanks, Kimbershomecare@gmail.com
