This was really intersting to look at. I'm 15 years old. My grandparents are from a place near Skala called Panagyrisrtra (Agios Georgios). I know most of the Anagnostakos' orginated from there, or from close to there. I'd like to hear from some of you.

Re: yeah, im an anagnostakos
Well, I live in Melbourne, Australia. Your name, Christos is very common in our family, it just so happens to be my father's name. From where in Greece are you?

Re: yeah, im an anagnostakos
yes, i am frances (aphrodite) anagnostakos, shortened by my father evangelos to anagnost. he was from stephania, near skala. is agios giorgios inland? the anagnostakos ancestors are also from aereopolis. many roads, bakeries, stores, named anagnostakos, or after capitan matepas, whose real name was michael anagnostakos.

Re: yeah, im an anagnostakos
Agios Giorgios is literally a part of Skala and if it weren't pointed out to you, you'd be forgiven for thinking you were still in Skala. It is over the bridge as you go towards Vlahioti. Stefania is another village where there are other Anagnostakos'. My theia Stella (married an Anagnostakos) is from there. My family is a prominent family in Skala, my dads cousin having been mayor of Skala a few years ago.
