Looking for Anae/Green history

I am a descendent of Malia Anae Green and Captain Benjamin Hughes. I am looking for any information regarding Malia's parents Tosi Anae and George Green. I've been told that George may have come from New Zealand but this is unconfirmed. Please let me know if you have any info regarding the background of George as assume Tosi's heritage is Samoan. Thanks

Hi there,

to which son or daughter of Maria and Ben are you from? I have met Rita Scott who was from i think one of the sons named Ben?

Tosi, Maria's mother is from the Anae family of the village of Falelatai, her brother is buried at the Anae house his name was Anae Mulufuaina, i'm not sure as to where she is buried. However Maria's brother Anae Sione is buried there also, his descendants look after the Anae Family house and land there.

George Green may have come from NZ as one of his stop overs from England. It is all heresay as what we know now, but i'm sure something will come up.

Hi there,

I'm a descendant of Lausuluifua Anae from Falelatai. He's my Grandfather. I'm not too sure about his father's name but I think he was a Fata from Afega who married Eletise, a full blooded Tokelauen.
I've heard that we are somehow connected with some palagi's that go by the last name Green and this is interesting to see that a Malia Anae Green's mother is Tosi Anae from Falelatai. I'm wondering what the connection is and if someone knows anything about my Great Grandmother Eletise who's from Tokelau?

Blessings

Hello all,
Goodness it has been a long time since my first post and I had no idea there were even replies.
My connection is through Malia Anae and her husband Benjamin Hughes..their daughter Mary Eliza Hughes was my GGG grandmother who married Wright in Fiji.
Story has it that Green possibly jumped ship after trying to escape the wars in NZ...but this is only a rumour.
