Believe several of the Amenotte/Amnott/Amnot family in Lewiston, ME are descendants of Jean/?John Joseph Amenotte (and various spellings) - including a Roland of Lewiston who is prob. the same Roland of discussion on this list; Jean/?John Joseph Amenotte was son of Pierre Amenotte and Domithilde Gendron, from the Stukely, Sherbrooke, Quebec area; Pierre had a brother Jeremie/Jeremiah mar. 1 to Delphine Berthelet; mar. 2 Mathilde <?>; and a sister Celeste mar. to Theophile Choiniere. (Marriage dates on these appears in another post by me on this forum) Surname Amenotte appears variously as Amenotte/Amnott/Amnott/Amelotte/Amulotte/etc. Jeremie and wife Delphine had three children: Alfred, Pierre and Malvina - Jeremie/Jeremiah disappears from Canadian records ca 1872, but have located a Jeremiah Amnot in Sioux City, Iowa, listed as a laborer in City Directory 1889/90, whom I believe is the right man.
