I am trying to find information re: Wilfred Amnot, born in Quebec (Possibly Sherbrooke,Quebec,Canada. His fathers name was Peter...not sure what his mother's name was. Wilfred had 3 sons. Delphis Joseph, Wifred, and John quarry. His wife's name was Mary Francis (Quarry) Amnot.
He came from Maine, (the Lewiston-Auburn area) I think that the name was originally spelled Amiot. It has had many different ways of spelling it since. Amiot, Amnot, amnott, Amnotte. Also, Wilfred had a brother named James, and a sister named Rose, and possible a sister named Delia. He was related to a cousin named Delphis in Canada and named his son after him. He was related to the Chief of police in Lewiston, Maine. the chief of police was Roland Amnot and he was a cousin; not sure if he was a 1st snd or 3rd cousin. I could not find any kind of info. which showed a direct connection to my grandfather (peter Amnot). However, I don't think my father would have said he was his (Roland's cousin if he did not know him. Also, they used to go from Boston to maine when they weere kids, but had to stay at someone elses house because they did not speak french but my grandfather Wilfred and his family (excluding his children) spoke french.
Wilfred had moved to Boston and married marry Quarry, But I am not sure when, or how old he was when he moved.
If you have ANY information.. please contact me at yvedc17a@yahoo.com
Thank you.
