James E. AMACK 81, of Loveland died July 12, 2005.
He was born Aug. 15, 1923, on a farm in Sheridan County, Kan. He attended a one-room schoolhouse, was valedictorian of his class and graduated from Selden (Kansas) High in 1940.
He was married to Eileen Godfrey on March 2, 1947, in Gem, Kan. The couple moved Denver in 1950 and moved to Loveland in 1960.
Mr. Amack owned and operated Amack Painting and Decorating in Loveland for 44 years.
He had been a member of the Masonic Lodge in Kansas since 1944. He was a member of Abiding Love Lutheran Church, enjoyed fishing, shooting pool, horseshoes, cards, bowling, the Broncos and the Rockies.
He is survived by a son, Steven Amack and wife Debbie of Loveland; four daughters, Sharon Sterling and husband Michael of Loveland, Carol Poulter and husband Darrell of Loveland, Patty Sheneman and husband Jerry of Albany, Ore., and Nancy Amack of Firestone; his sister, Florence Marcellus of Loveland; his sister-in-law, MaryAnn Amack of Oberlin, Kan.; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen Amack; a daughter, Gail Amack; and a brother, Randall Amack.
A viewing will be 4-8 p.m. today at Allnutt Hunter Chapel. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Allnutt Hunter Chapel.
