I have Amacher ancestors in Oberried, Interlaken district, Canton Bern, Switzerland. Ulrich and Madalena Schmocker Amacher are my great-grandparents. Their children immigrated to Taylor County, Wisconsin in the early 1890's.

Our family Amachers, are from Switzerland - right where your's are from - Christian Amacher - settled in St Paul Minnesota

Hello John, I have a Ida Amacher born Abt. 1870. She married a ? Brunner. Her father was Peter he died 12/12/1921

Eldbeth Amacher married Johannes Linder, Elsabeth`s father was Christen Amacher, her mother was Katharina Nufer. Christen`s father was Christen Amacher his mother was Margaret (Berret) Baeret, Christen`s father was Christen Amacher his mother`s name was Anna Fischer. I have a Katharina Nufer born about 1735 in Oberried, Kanton of Bern, Switzerland. married Christen Amacher on June 5, 1761. Christen Amacher was born or Christened on 22 July 1731 in Brienz, Kanton of Bern, Switzerland. He died on 6 December 1796. They had 4 children: Elsbeth Amacher born 1769 christened on 25 December 1769 in Oberried, Kanton of Bern, Switzerland. Died on 26 August 1831. Married Johannes Linder. they were my 4th generation grandparents. Elisabetha Amacher born 1763 Christened 8 May 1763 in Brienz, Kanton of Bern, Switzerland. Died 3 September 1764. Christen Amacher born 1765 Christened on 28 July 1765 in Brienz, Kanton of Bern, Switzerland. Hans Amacher born 1766 Christened on 16 November 1766 in Brienz,Kantion of Bern, Switzerland. In 1682 an Elisabeth Nufer married a Hans Ruef who's son Ulrich Ruef is on the maternal side of the my Seeliger family tree. Multiple generations later of Ulrich Ruef's a daughter Margaritha Ruef married a Johannes Glaus on June 4 of 1843. Their daughter Anna, married Peter Amacher in October of 1887 and originally settled in Galeton, PA. before the family followed his sister's family to Wisconsin some years later and settled in Token Creek (Madison area) where he built a cheese factory. His daugther MaryAnna (Marion) married my grandfather Walter Wm. Seeliger.
